Terms and conditions
Please read these terms carefully before booking or attending a course with Trusted Technical Training. They explain our payment, cancellation, attendance, safety and training requirements.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Trusted Technical Training (“TTT”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides practical welding and engineering training. By booking, paying for or attending a course, the customer and trainee agree to the following terms and conditions.
Where an employer or organisation makes a booking, it is responsible for ensuring all trainees receive and comply with these terms.
Bookings and payment
A booking is not confirmed until TTT has provided written confirmation and received any required payment.
Unless the customer has an approved account or alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing, full payment must be received before the course begins.
Cancellations and refunds
Subject to any statutory rights that apply, course fees are non-refundable once payment has been received.
Course places, instructors, facilities, equipment and materials are allocated when payment is taken. No refund will be provided where a customer or trainee:
- Cancels their booking
- Does not attend
- Arrives too late to participate
- Fails to complete the course
- Is removed because of their conduct
Nothing in these terms affects a consumer’s statutory cancellation or refund rights.
Transfers
Requests to transfer a booking to another course date must be made in writing.
Transfers are not guaranteed and are subject to:
- Availability on an alternative course
- Approval by TTT
- Payment of any applicable administration or additional course fees
- Any conditions attached to funded training
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, only one transfer may be permitted per booking. A transferred booking remains non-refundable.
Trainee substitutions
A company may request to substitute one trainee for another before the course begins, subject to TTT’s written approval.
The replacement trainee must:
- Meet any course entry requirements
- Be able to participate safely
- Provide all required registration information
- Comply with these terms and conditions
Substitutions may not be possible for funded programmes, individually assessed courses or where information has already been submitted to an awarding, funding or partner organisation.
Cancellations or changes by TTT
TTT may cancel, postpone or amend a course where reasonably necessary, including because of instructor illness, equipment failure, insufficient numbers, safety concerns or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where TTT cancels a course, customers will be offered:
- An alternative course date
- A refund of the affected course fee
TTT is not responsible for consequential expenses such as travel, accommodation, loss of earnings or loss of production, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
TTT may make reasonable changes to course content, instructors, equipment or delivery arrangements without reducing the overall purpose or quality of the training.
Attendance
One hundred per cent attendance is expected for every course unless stated otherwise in the course information.
We understand that absence may sometimes be unavoidable. Any absence must be reported to TTT as soon as possible and will be considered on an individual basis.
Trainees must arrive punctually and participate fully in all required sessions. Repeated lateness, unauthorised absence or failure to complete essential course elements may result in the trainee being unable to continue, the course being recorded as incomplete or a certificate not being issued.
No refund will be provided for sessions missed by a trainee. Any additional training or reassessment required because of absence may incur a further charge.
Conduct and health and safety
Trainees must:
- Follow all health and safety instructions
- Comply with TTT’s site rules
- Wear the required personal protective equipment
- Use tools, machinery and equipment only as instructed
- Behave appropriately towards staff and other trainees
- Not attend under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance that could make participation unsafe
TTT may remove a trainee whose behaviour is unsafe, inappropriate or disruptive. No refund will be provided where removal results from the trainee’s conduct.
Fitness to participate
Customers and trainees must inform TTT before the course of any medical condition, disability, injury, medication or other matter that could affect safe participation.
TTT will consider reasonable adjustments wherever possible. Participation may be restricted where an activity cannot be completed safely, even with reasonable adjustments.
Assessment and certification
Certificates will only be issued where the relevant attendance, participation and assessment requirements have been met.
Unless expressly stated in the course description, completion of a course does not constitute:
- A formal qualification
- Coded welding approval
- An unconditional declaration of competence
- A guarantee of employment, promotion or accreditation
Responsibility for work undertaken after training
TTT provides training with reasonable care and skill. However, responsibility for welding, fabrication, supervision or other work undertaken after the course remains with the trainee and, where applicable, their employer.
The trainee, employer or person commissioning the work remains responsible for:
- Assessing and authorising competence
- Providing suitable supervision
- Completing appropriate risk assessments
- Providing and maintaining suitable equipment
- Implementing safe systems of work
- Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and legal requirements
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TTT accepts no liability for loss, damage, defects, accidents or other consequences arising from work subsequently undertaken by a trainee or another person following the training.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts TTT’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Course materials
Course materials remain the intellectual property of TTT or the relevant rights holder.
Materials are provided for personal learning and internal workplace use only. They must not be copied, sold, published, distributed or used to provide training to others without prior written permission from TTT.
Personal information and privacy
TTT collects and uses personal information where necessary to:
- Manage bookings and payments
- Deliver training
- Monitor attendance and progress
- Complete assessments
- Issue certificates
- Meet funding or regulatory requirements
- Maintain appropriate training records
Personal information will be handled securely and in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Where training is arranged or funded by an employer, council, college, funding body or partner organisation, relevant attendance, progress, assessment and completion information may be shared with that organisation where there is a lawful basis to do so.
Further information is available in TTT’s Privacy Policy.
Complaints
Any concern or complaint should be raised with TTT as soon as possible so it can be investigated.
Please provide:
- The trainee’s name
- The course or programme
- The relevant course dates
- A clear explanation of the concern
Complaints can be submitted using the contact details displayed on the TTT website.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.
No change to these terms will be effective unless agreed by TTT in writing.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms limits any rights a consumer has regarding where legal proceedings may be brought.
